We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Bartender to join our Food & Beverage team at The Royal Marine Hotel. The successful candidate will demonstrate a professional approach to guest service, strong beverage knowledge and the ability to uphold our high standards in a busy, late-night environment.
Job Purpose
To deliver exceptional service in our late-night bar, ensuring a welcoming, professional and enjoyable experience for all guests. This role requires confidence behind the bar, professionalism on the floor and a genuine passion for hospitality.
Note: This role requires commuting outside of public transport hours.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver outstanding customer service in a friendly and professional manner

Prepare and serve a wide range of beverages, including cocktails, wines, beers and spirits

Maintain strong knowledge of menus, specials and promotions

Take food and drink orders accurately and ensure timely service

Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation

Ensure compliance with licensing laws, food safety, health & safety and hotel policies

Handle cash and card transactions and operate POS systems accurately

Manage and restock bar inventory efficiently, minimising waste

Work collaboratively with team members and other departments

Promote upselling of premium beverages and special offers

Assist with opening and closing duties as required

Report wastage, breakages, and maintenance issues
Person Specification
Essential:

Minimum 1 year's experience as bartender in a hotel or similar environment

Strong knowledge of cocktails, wines and premium spirits

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced setting

Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently

Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and late shifts
