Solar PV Technical Support Person

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and technically minded Solar PV Technical Support Person to join our growing team in New Ross, Co. Wexford.
The successful candidate will provide technical support to our installation and service teams, helping to ensure solar PV systems are installed, commissioned and maintained to a high standard. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with practical experience in electrical or renewable energy systems who wants to develop their career within the rapidly growing solar PV industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to Solar PV installation and service teams.
- Assist with troubleshooting and diagnosing PV system faults.
- Support the commissioning of solar PV, battery storage and associated electrical systems.
- Provide technical assistance to customers and installers by phone, email and on site when required.
- Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers regarding technical issues, warranties and replacement equipment.
- Assist with monitoring and diagnosing inverter, battery and PV system performance.
- Help maintain accurate technical records and system documentation.
- Keep up to date with relevant electrical standards, regulations and solar PV technologies.
- Assist with training and technical guidance for installation teams.
Requirements
- Previous experience in Solar PV, electrical systems, renewable energy or a related technical role.
- Good understanding of PV systems, inverters, batteries and associated electrical equipment.
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Good IT and communication skills.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Ability to work independently while also supporting a wider technical team.
- A practical, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail.
Desirable
- Electrical qualification or relevant technical certification.
- Experience with solar PV monitoring platforms.
- Experience with battery storage systems.
- Knowledge of Irish electrical standards and Safe Electric requirements.
- Experience with popular PV inverter and battery manufacturers.
- Previous experience supporting field installation teams.
