Maki Poké is an exciting new food concept opening in Dublin, combining the best of Japanese and Hawaiian inspired cuisine. We're passionate about serving fresh, healthy, and flavourful sushi rolls and poké bowls made daily.
As we prepare to open our doors, we're looking for an enthusiastic full time Sushi Chef to join us on this exciting journey. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a growing business from the very beginning, contribute ideas, develop your skills, and help shape an exceptional customer experience.
What You'll Be Doing
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high quality fresh sushi, poké bowls, and other Japanese and Hawaiian inspired dishes while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare sushi rice, fresh ingredients, and sauces.
- Prepare and handle raw fish, seafood, vegetables, and other ingredients in accordance with food safety standards.
- Assemble fresh sushi rolls, poké bowls, and other menu items to company specifications.
- Ensure all products are prepared consistently and presented to a high standard.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management.
- Follow HACCP procedures and maintain excellent food safety practices.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient preparation kitchen.
- Assist in menu development and contribute ideas for new products and specials.
- Support the training and development of junior team members when required.
- Work closely with management and colleagues to ensure smooth daily operations.

- Experience preparing sushi is essential.

- Ability to work well as part of a team while also taking initiative independently.
