BER Assessor – Full-Time Position
Location: Office Based in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal
Job Type: Permanent – Full-Time
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:30, including a 1-hour break
Starting Salary: €31,200 plus significant bonuses based on completed assessments
BERindonegal Ltd. is seeking a qualified BER Assessor to join our growing team based in Letterkenny. Due to continued demand for our services across County Donegal and surrounding areas, we are looking to recruit an additional assessor.
Applicants must either be qualified BER Assessors or have successfully passed the BER Assessor exam and be eligible to complete the registration process. If you do not meet this requirement, please do not apply for this position.
This is a supportive working environment with full office backup and the benefit of working alongside an experienced multi-assessor team. This will allow you to grow your knowledge and skills while developing within an established BER practice.
We use a systemised approach to help all assessors complete assessments in a timely and consistent manner, while ensuring assessments are carried out in accordance with SEAI methodology.
Experience completing Technical Assessments is not essential. However, the successful candidate will be asked to complete the relevant SEAI application form to become registered to carry out Technical Assessments. Additional payments will apply for Technical Assessments.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out residential BER assessments and property inspections
- Carry out BER assessments for new builds and Part L compliance
- Complete Technical Assessments for SEAI heat pump grants once registered
- Measure properties and record construction details accurately
- Gather photographs and supporting evidence required for SEAI compliance
- Prepare and submit BER assessments in accordance with SEAI methodology
- Liaise with clients and office staff regarding inspections and required information
Requirements
- Qualified BER Assessor, or passed the BER Assessor exam and eligible to complete registration
- Good knowledge of DEAP and SEAI methodology
- Good computer and iPad proficiency
- Understanding of building construction and insulation systems
- Strong attention to detail
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Full clean driving licence
- Ability to work independently
- Willingness to use your own vehicle for travel to inspections
Desirable
- Qualification to carry out commercial, non-domestic BER assessments would be an advantage
- Additional payment rates would apply for commercial assessments depending on the project
