Clonakilty Park Hotel is currently seeking a Full-Time Duty Manager to join our management team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced hotel professional who is passionate about guest service, operational excellence, and leading teams in a busy, high-quality hotel environment.
About the Role
As Duty Manager, you will act as the senior manager on shift, overseeing the smooth and efficient operation of the hotel across all departments. You will ensure the highest standards of service, safety, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction are maintained at all times, while supporting teams and handling guest interactions with confidence and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Be operationally responsible for the hotel during assigned shifts
- Support and coordinate all departments including Front Office, Accommodation, Food & Beverage, and Leisure Centre
- Maintain a strong visible presence throughout the hotel, especially during peak periods
- Handle guest feedback and complaints calmly and professionally, ensuring full service recovery
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness, presentation, health, safety, and security across the property
- Liaise daily with Heads of Department to ensure staffing levels and operational standards are met
- Conduct regular building and safety checks, including fire and security procedures
- Lead the team effectively in emergency or fire alarm situations
- Chair daily team briefings and ensure effective handovers between Duty Managers
- Complete Duty Management documentation and support operational projects as required
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in a hotel supervisory or management role
- Ideal candidate will have strong Food & Beverage experience
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
- A hands-on, guest-focused approach with excellent problem-solving abilities
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
- High standards of personal presentation and attention to detail
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and public holidays
