We are looking for an experienced Shopify specialist to take ownership of the development, configuration and ongoing improvement of our Shopify platform.
This is an in person, hands-on technical role for someone with 3+ years of practical Shopify experience, particularly someone who is comfortable working beyond standard theme configuration and has experience connecting Shopify with other business systems through APIs and third-party integrations.
The successful candidate will work closely with our internal team to improve how Shopify operates, automate processes, troubleshoot integrations and build reliable connections between different platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, maintain and improve our Shopify store.
- Configure and customise Shopify themes, templates and functionality.
- Work with Shopify metafields, metaobjects, collections, products, customers and orders.
- Build and maintain integrations between Shopify and external platforms.
- Work with REST APIs, GraphQL APIs and webhooks.
- Troubleshoot API connections, data-sync issues and integration failures.
- Work with third-party Shopify apps and determine when custom integrations are required.
- Automate the movement of data between Shopify and other internal systems.
- Import, export and manage large volumes of Shopify product, customer and order data.
- Configure and troubleshoot Shopify Flow and other automation tools.
- Test new functionality and integrations before deployment.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual processes through automation.
- Maintain clear documentation for integrations, workflows and system configurations.
- Liaise with external developers and software providers when required.
Essential Experience
- Minimum 3 years' professional experience working with Shopify.
- Strong understanding of the Shopify Admin and Shopify platform architecture.
- Experience working with Shopify APIs.
- Experience integrating Shopify with external platforms or systems.
- Good understanding of REST APIs, GraphQL, JSON and webhooks.
- Experience troubleshooting integrations and API errors.
- Experience with Shopify metafields and metaobjects.
- Experience with Shopify product, customer and order data structures.
- Experience working with Shopify apps and third-party integrations.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of technical projects.
Desirable Experience
Experience in any of the following would be beneficial:
- Shopify Plus.
- Shopify Flow.
- Matrixify or similar bulk data-management tools.
- Custom Shopify app development.
- JavaScript.
- Liquid.
- HTML/CSS.
- API authentication methods including OAuth and API tokens.
- Middleware or automation platforms.
- ERP, accounting, project-management or operational system integrations.
- Git or other version-control tools.
