Job Description:
This role best suits upbeat and self-motivated individuals who enjoy working systematically and productively. The fast paced and energised environment relies on organisation, geographical knowledge, efficiency and with so much ground to cover in the line of duty it is important to ensure that you have a moderate level of fitness to enable you to comfortably carry out your tasks.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Carry out daily schedules to agreed routes and timings.
Completing all associated documentation relating to deliveries and / or collections.
Planning and keeping records of routes.
Safe operation of equipment and machines, e.g. battery powered Pallet Trucks, Truck Tail lift etc.
Load and unloading goods.
Ensuring loads are safe and secure.
Complete specific documentation required by both legislation and Company.
Comply with all statutory requirements related to Road Traffic Act and other relevant legislation connected to the vehicle, driver’s hours and digital Tachograph records, vehicle weight limits and speed limits.
Sorting of products collected from customers or damaged during the day into two categories; Product suitable for re-sale and Product suitable for destruction.
Act as a customer contact at delivery point of service. Act in a polite and courteous manner to customers and road users at all times.
Ability to walk, drive, lift or carry items of appropriate weight as required to complete your work.
Carrying out daily vehicle maintenance checks and notifying any defects to Depot Manager.
Working in a safe manner adhering to Health & Safety guidelines and regulations.
Key Skills and Competencies:
Clean category C licence.
Up to date CPC and Drivers Card.
Effective spoken and written English communication skills.
Eligible to work in the Republic of Ireland.
Safety orientation.
Attention to detail to ensure documentation is correct and error free.
Good organisational skills.
Reliable and dependable.
Positive attitude and a team player.
Ability to work on own initiative.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
