Safe and Together Implementation Lead
(Full Time: 35 hours per week)
1. About Safe Ireland
Safe Ireland National Social Change Agency CLG works to eradicate Domestic, Sex, Gender and Sexuality-Based Violence (DSGSBV) in Ireland. We recognise that DSGSBV is a widescale social problem that requires a nationwide county and community based response at every level to ensure safe pathways out of abuse for women and children.
We have four distinct functions:
1. Understanding domestic, sex, gender and sexuality-based coercion and violence to advance Government, commercial and civil society policy, practice and provision responses.
2. Providing and supporting frontline refuge, support and outreach services to SURVIVORS of DSGSBV
3. Supporting Safe Ireland member SERVICES
4. Developing domestic violence (DV) SECTORAL best practice for community- based DSGSBV responses.
We achieve our work through collaboration with our network of affiliated independent frontline DV services, and with National stakeholders. There are 37 DV services affiliated as members of Safe Ireland. Each delivers local services including helplines, information/advocacy, crisis and move-on accommodation, Garda/court accompaniment, Welfare advice, and practical/emotional/therapeutic supports for adults, young people and children.
2. About the role
This post is national and coordination-focused, working across Safe Ireland’s Members Network, 37 autonomous domestic violence services. The Safe & Together Implementation Lead will be responsible for driving, coordinating and embedding the Safe & Together Model into everyday practice across Safe Ireland’s Network Members, working in partnership with statutory and community stakeholders.
This role will focus on ensuring the Safe & Together Model becomes embedded, operationalised and sustained, supporting consistent, survivor-centred, perpetrator pattern-based responses to DSGSBV across the Safe Ireland Network Members and beyond.
3. Role Responsibilities
- Undertake Safe & Together training as directed. This will include core training, supervisor training and the Safe & Together trainer certification course.
- Deliver Overview Days and CORE training on the Safe & Together Model as required.
- Lead the implementation and embedding of the Safe & Together Model across the Safe Ireland Network Members, statutory agencies and across systems working with families experiencing domestic, Sex, Gender and Sexuality-based Violence (DSGSBV) .
- Support services to integrate Safe & Together principles into policies, procedures, supervision frameworks, assessment tools, and partnership working, in line with international implementation approaches.
- Act as a practice specialist and change leader, supporting cultural and systemic shifts required to implement perpetrator-focused and survivor-supporting responses.
- Provide reports on the implementation of Safe & Together to management.
- Provide case consultation to Safe Ireland Network Members.
- Undertake case audits at the start and towards the close of projects to measure changes in practice and the impact of Safe & Together Support practitioners to create focus groups with parents and children to assess the impact of Safe & Together on families.
- Support the collection of data to measure the impact of the Safe & Together model To represent Safe Ireland in national and sectoral forums related to Safe & Together implementation and best practice.
- To contribute to the wider Safe & Together network internationally.

- Reports To: Education & Training Manager
- Salary Scale: HSE Consolidated Pay scales Aug 2025: Social Care Leader, point 1: €56,351 per annum.
- Probationary Period: 6 months
- Drivers License: Full, Clean Driver’s License and access to a car is a requirement of this role References Satisfactory written references are a requirement of this role.
5. Essential Ǫualifications, Skills and Experience
- Applicants will be assessed against the following requirements and are encouraged to use their applications to provide examples of how they meet these criteria.
- A relevant 3rd level qualification on the National Framework of Ǫualifications (Min level 7) in Social Care, Social Work, Youth and Community or relevant discipline.
- A qualification or training in working with domestic violence would be a distinct advantage.
- Extensive child welfare and/or domestic violence professional experience (10 years +) will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Demonstrated experience on practice development, implementation or service improvement.
- Experience delivering or supporting training across multidisciplinary settings.
- Strong ability to build relationships, influence practice and negotiate change with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical, writing and communication skills, including the ability to produce briefings and progress reports.
6. Desirable Ǫualifications, Skills and Experience
- Formal training in the Safe & Together Model or demonstrable experience working within Safe & Together-informed systems
