Plumber / Pipefitter – First Fix, Mid Fix & Second Fix

We are looking for experienced and reliable Plumbers / Pipefitters to join our team working on residential and commercial projects throughout Dublin and surrounding areas.
The successful candidates will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of first fixing, mid fixing and second fixing plumbing, heating and ventilation works, ensuring all installations are completed to a high standard, safely and in accordance with current regulations and project specifications.
Key ResponsibilitiesFirst Fix Plumbing
- Installation of hot and cold-water pipework.
- Installation of heating pipework and distribution systems.
- Installation of domestic water services.
- Installation of soil, waste and drainage pipework.
- Installation of SVPs (Soil Vent Pipes) and associated waste systems.
- Installation of pipework to bathrooms, kitchens, utility rooms and hot presses.
- Installation of pipework to radiators and heating systems.
- Installation of pipework within floors, walls, ceilings and service areas.
- Installation of pipework to risers and plant areas.
- Carrying out first-fix works to new-build houses, apartments and other developments.
Mid Fix / Second Fix Plumbing
- Installation and connection of sanitaryware.
- Second fixing of bathrooms.
- Installation of baths and shower trays.
- Installation of toilets, basins, sinks and associated wastes.
- Installation of taps, valves and other plumbing fixtures.
- Installation and connection of kitchen sinks and appliances where required.
- Installation and completion of hot presses, including cylinders, valves, pipework and associated components.
- Connecting radiators and heating appliances.
- Testing systems for leaks and correct operation.
- Carrying out remedial and snagging works.
Heating Systems
- Installation of complete domestic heating systems.
- Installation of radiators and heating circuits.
- Installation of hot water cylinders and associated equipment.
- Installation of pumps, valves, expansion vessels and controls.
- Installation and connection of heating pipework.
- Testing, commissioning and fault finding on heating systems.
- Working from drawings and project specifications.
Air Source Heat Pumps
- Installation of air source heat pump systems and associated pipework.
- Installation of heating and hot-water distribution systems connected to heat pumps.
- Installation of cylinders, buffers, pumps, valves and associated components.
- Pipework installation and insulation.
- Testing and preparation of systems for commissioning.
- Working alongside heating engineers and other trades where required.
Ventilation
- Installation of domestic and mechanical ventilation systems.
- Installation of ventilation ductwork and associated components.
- Installation of bathroom, kitchen and utility-room extraction systems.
- Installation of ventilation pipework/ducting through walls, ceilings and service areas.
- Working within risers and plant/service areas.
- Ensuring ventilation installations are completed neatly and correctly.
Risers & Landlords
- Installation of plumbing and heating services within risers.
- Installation of landlord services and distribution pipework.
- Installation of mains water, heating and domestic hot-water services.
- Working within apartment blocks and multi-unit developments.
- Connecting individual apartments/properties to central services.
- Installation of valves, meters and associated service components.
- Identification and labelling of services where required.
Drainage
- Installation of internal drainage systems.
- Installation of waste and soil pipework.
- Installation of SVPs and branch connections.
- Installation of underground/internal drainage where required.
- Connecting bathrooms, kitchens, utility rooms and other outlets.
- Testing drainage systems and ensuring correct falls and connections.
- Working from drawings and drainage layouts.
Bathrooms
- First, mid and second fixing of complete bathroom installations.
- Installation of baths, shower trays and shower systems.
- Installation of toilets and concealed cisterns.
- Installation of wash hand basins and vanity units.
- Installation of wastes, traps and connections.
- Installation of taps and valves.
- Testing and checking completed installations.
- Completing bathroom snagging and remedial works.
Kitchens & Hot Presses
- First and second fixing of kitchen plumbing.
- Installation of kitchen sink pipework and wastes.
- Connections for dishwashers, washing machines and other appliances where required.
- Installation and completion of hot presses.
- Installation of cylinders, valves, pumps and associated pipework.
- Insulation and neat finishing of pipework.
General Duties
- Reading and working from plumbing, heating and mechanical drawings.
- Measuring, cutting, bending and installing pipework accurately.
- Working with copper, plastic, multilayer and other approved plumbing systems.
- Pressure testing and checking completed installations.
- Identifying and resolving plumbing and heating issues.
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Working effectively alongside other trades on busy construction sites.
- Completing work to a high standard and within agreed deadlines.
- Following all health and safety requirements and site procedures.
- Reporting materials, issues, defects or variations to the supervisor/site management.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Plumber / Pipefitter.
- Strong experience in first fix, mid fix and second fix plumbing.
- Experience with residential new-build projects is highly desirable.
- Experience with heating systems and/or air source heat pumps is an advantage.
- Ability to read and understand plumbing/mechanical drawings.
- Good understanding of drainage, SVPs, risers and landlord services.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High standard of workmanship and attention to detail.
- Good timekeeping and reliability.
- Safe working practices and a professional attitude.
- Relevant plumbing qualifications/trade experience.
