Promise Gluten Free / Gallaghers Bakehouse are currently recruiting General Operatives for our manufacturing teams in Ardara due to continued expansion and growth.
Our GRADE A General Operatives are focused on ensuring that all areas of the facility run smoothly and are kept to a suitably high standard of cleanliness. A typical day will involve working as part of the team to hit our daily and weekly targets ensuring the highest manufacturing standards across the facility.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring that all tasks allocated by the Shift Manager, Plant Operator, Machine Operator or Product Quality Lead are completed in a timely, efficient, and safe manner.
- Involvement in setting up production lines and machines, including safe manual handling and lifting techniques. Usage of sharp tools and machinery, as required, in a completely safe manner which could cause serious harm if not utilised properly.
- Ensuring products that are in contact with you meet all specification from the core product, the wrapper, the case and all documentation.
- Ensure you are adhering to food safety standards at all times- Good Manufacturing Practices- report any instances of breach of standards to senior team members
- Ensuring work area/line/machines are kept clean and tidy by following ‘clean as go’ policy
- Entering only accurate data into Production record books and IT system
- Participating in on-the-job training and request assistance/training if unsure of tasks
- Adhering to all company policies. All data inputting into IT system must be accurate.
- Adhering to company Health & Safety/GMP/Waste/Giveaway/Efficiency policies and procedures. Monitoring and reporting any issues to management using proper procedures to do so.
- Motivate and inspire fellow team members
- Promoting communication and encouraging team work. Must be able to communicate in English successfully amongst colleagues.
- Being as efficient as possible in order to increase productivity, not leaving production floor without notifying senior team member. Utilise all production downtime for hygiene or workplace organisation
- Other duties as required
Key Requirements:
· Manual Handling/GMP Training
· Able to prioritise tasks and safely lift weights above 15kg if necessary
· Quality focused, Attention to detail, Great Communication skills
· Team player fit to work in a hot environment, with possible airborne particles, be able to stand for periods up to 8 hours at a time with no adverse impact to your health & safety.
· Flexibility/adaptability (shifts/overtime hours)

We have an internal recruitment and promotion policy and the right candidate with experience in FMCG may meet the criteria for a more senior position in Production.
Sunday and Overtime rates of pay are standard for Hourly paid employees if worked.
