Personal Support Worker / Childcare Assistant
Location: Cratloe, Co. Clare
Job Type: Part-Time / Full-Time (18–40 hours per week)
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience.
About the Role
We are looking for a caring, patient and reliable Personal Support Worker to provide one-to-one support for a non-verbal autistic child with Smith-Magenis Syndrome in their family home in Cratloe, Co. Clare.

Working Hours
* Approximately 18 hours per week during school terms.
* Up to 40 hours per week during school holidays.
* No work required during the Christmas holiday period.
* Some flexibility is required to meet the child’s needs.
Responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one support in the child’s home.
* Support daily routines and encourage independence.
* Plan and participate in fun, educational and sensory activities.
* Support communication using the child’s preferred methods.
* Accompany the child on outings and community activities.
* Ensure the child’s safety, wellbeing and comfort at all times.
* Work closely with parents and follow established routines and care plans.
Essential Requirements
* Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting children with additional needs.
* Experience working with autistic children.
* Compassionate, patient, empathetic and dependable.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Full, clean driving licence .
* Ability to work independently and use initiative.
Desirable
Help with Personal Care Needs
* Experience supporting non-verbal children.
* Knowledge or experience of working with children with additional needs
* Qualification in Childcare, Social Care, Healthcare or a related discipline.
