About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Management Accountant to support the finance function of our Macroom operation. This is a part-time position requiring two days per week, with additional flexibility during month-end close if required.
Reporting directly to the Group Finance Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate monthly management accounts, delivering key weekly financial reporting to Head Office, and providing oversight of working capital, debtors, and creditors to support effective financial control and informed business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Monthly Management Accounts

Prepare accurate monthly management accounts within agreed reporting deadlines.
- Produce monthly profit and loss accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Analyse financial performance against budget, forecast and prior year.
- Investigate financial variances and provide meaningful commentary to the Group Finance Director.
- Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning.
Weekly Head Office Reporting

Prepare and submit weekly financial reports to Head Office.
- Report key financial and operational KPIs.
- Produce weekly working capital reports, including:
- Cash position
- Debtor ageing
- Creditor ageing
- Inventory levels
- Highlight significant trends, risks and opportunities.
Working Capital Management

Monitor and improve working capital performance.
- Oversee sales ledger and credit control activities.
- Monitor purchase ledger and supplier payment performance.
- Ensure debtor collections remain within agreed credit terms.
- Identify opportunities to improve cash flow and reduce working capital requirements.
Financial Control

Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintain robust financial controls and accounting procedures.
- Support year-end audit requirements.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and relevant Irish financial regulations.
- Assist in developing and improving finance processes and reporting.
Business Support

Provide financial analysis to support operational and commercial decision-making.
- Work closely with the operational management team to improve financial visibility and business performance.
- Partner with the operational team to develop, implement and maintain robust accruals and Work in Progress (WIP) reporting processes, ensuring costs and revenues are recognised accurately within the appropriate accounting period.
- Liaise with the Group Finance Director on financial performance and reporting requirements.
- Support ad hoc reporting, projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Person Specification
Essential
-
Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), or qualified by experience.
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience producing monthly management accounts.
- Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience.
- Good understanding of working capital management.
- Experience overseeing debtor and creditor ledgers.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet reporting deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Desirable

Experience using Xero accounting software would be highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of UK + Irish VAT and statutory reporting requirements.
