Club Maidine / Trathnóna is a breakfast and after-school service in Gaelscoil Inis Córthaidh. It runs from 07:50 to 08:50 and 13:20 to 18:00 each day. The Morning / Afternoon Club aims to provide a high quality, friendly and reliable environment for pupils of Gaelscoil Inis Córthaidh. We are looking for a kind, enthusiastic and dedicated individual to manage our service. Please note that this role will commence at the start of the school term and is for term-time only.
Job Description:
- Welcome children each morning/afternoon, ensuring they feel safe, included, and excited to be there.
- Plan and lead engaging activities—arts and crafts, group games, STEM challenges, and outdoor play.
- Support children with homework, offering guidance and encouragement.
- Promote positive behaviour and conflict resolution through gentle, respectful communication.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised childcare room.
- Follow all safeguarding, health, and safety policies to ensure the well-being of every child.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about their child’s day and progress.
- Serving food and accompanying children to various activitie.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Previous childcare experience.
- A genuine passion for working with children and commitment to providing a nurturing environment.
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, approachable leadership style.
- Confidence in speaking in the Irish language or a willingness to learn.
- Garda vetting and reference checks required for child safety.
Pay: €16.00-€18.00 per hour
