We deliver both residential and commercial landscaping and landscape maintenance projects across the South-East, combining creativity, biodiversity awareness and hands-on expertise.
Position Overview
We are looking for a motivated and reliable Landscape Operative to join our friendly and experienced team. This is a varied, hands-on outdoor role covering both active landscaping projects and ongoing landscape maintenance work — no two days are the same.
The ideal candidate must have a genuine interest in horticulture and take pride in delivering high-quality results across all aspects of the role. During busy periods, you will be expected to work some extra hours and occasional Saturdays, with additional pay provided. This is a specified purpose contract with real opportunities for promotion and long-term career development for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Landscaping:
- Assist with the construction and installation of hard and soft landscaping features including patios, decking, pathways and retaining walls
- Planting and establishment of semi-mature and mature trees, ornamental plants, hedging, herbaceous and grass materials
- Seasonal planting, turfing, seeding and ground preparation
- Support installation of water features and outdoor lighting
Landscape Maintenance:
- Grass cutting, hedge trimming, pruning, weeding and weed control
- Operate and maintain landscaping machinery and tools (e.g., mowers, strimmers, blowers)
- Ensure all equipment and vehicles are clean, well-maintained and ready for use
General:
- Accurately complete daily timesheets and job diaries, documenting work performed and site observations
- Adhere to all health and safety protocols and company procedures
- Communicate effectively with clients, site contacts and team members
- Be available for overtime and Saturday work as required (additional pay provided)
Candidate Requirements
- Desirable minimum 2 years’ experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance or a related outdoor trade
- Full clean Irish driving licence — essential
- Safe Pass — essential
- Manual Handling certification — essential
- BE trailer licence — an advantage
- QQI Hand-held Pesticide Application certification — an advantage
- C1 licence — an advantage
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
- Reliable, punctual and a strong work ethic
- Experience maintaining accurate records and documentation
