Fixed-term ECCE 2027/2028
Purpose of the Role:
The Assistant Early Years Educator in the Access and Inclusion Model (AIM) role will work alongside the existing early years team to ensure that all children, including those with additional needs, can access and participate fully in the Early Childhood Care and Education
(ECCE) programme.
The role involves providing targeted support to enable the inclusion, participation, and development of a specific child or children, while fostering a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all.
The role is in our Outdoor ECCE play session so a love for the outdoors and ability to build meaningful emergent outdoor curriculum is essential!
Minimum Requirements:
- QQI Major Award at Level 5 Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education (or equivalent recognised qualification).
- Knowledge of and commitment to the principles of the Access and Inclusion Model.
- Knowledge of Aistear (Early Childhood Curriculum Framework) and Síolta (Quality Framework).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
- Valid First Aid Responder Certificate

- Manual Handling
- Tusla Children First
Desirable Requirements:
- Previous relevant experience
- QQI 6 in Early Years
- QQI 7 or 8 Early Years
- Montessori Teaching Qualification
- Leadership for Inclusion Certificate (LINC or LINC+)
- Training in areas such as Lámh, PECS, sensory processing, or behaviour support.
- Outdoor curriculum expereince

Hours & Terms:
20 hours per week. Hours of work will reflect the ECCE session(s) attended by the supported child(ren) plus 1 additional hour daily to carry out other duties necessary to fulfil the position. Position is funded through AIM Level 7 support and is subject to annual review based on allocation.
Salary: €15+ per hour depending on experience and qualifications
Note:
This role is designed to enhance inclusion within the existing team. The AIM Assistant is not a one-to-one SNA in the traditional primary school sense, but a collaborative support ensuring the child(ren) can participate meaningfully alongside peers.
