Job Summary
Treacys West County Hotel is one of the largest and most established hotels in the West of Ireland, welcoming leisure guests, corporate clients, conferences, groups and events throughout the year.
We are looking for a Sales Manager to join our team and take a proactive, hands-on approach to growing the hotel’s business.
This is a sales-focused role for someone who enjoys building relationships, meeting potential clients, developing new business and getting out from behind the desk. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales across accommodation, conferences, meetings, events and other areas of the hotel.
The Sales Manager will also oversee the hotel’s Sales & Marketing Department, working closely with and managing the existing Sales & Marketing team to ensure marketing activity, social media, promotions and administrative tasks are being effectively delivered.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Develop and implement strategies to increase hotel sales and revenue.
- Proactively seek out new business opportunities and generate new leads.
- Get out into the local business community to develop relationships and promote the hotel.
- Arrange and attend client meetings, business visits, networking events and sales calls.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, local businesses, event organisers, tour operators and other key accounts.
- Promote the hotel’s bedrooms, conference facilities, events, packages and other services.
- Handle sales enquiries, prepare proposals and follow up on leads to convert business.
- Identify opportunities to increase repeat business and strengthen existing client relationships.
- Monitor local and competitor activity and identify new opportunities for the hotel.
- Work towards agreed sales targets and contribute to the overall commercial performance of the hotel.
Team & Marketing Management
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of the Sales & Marketing Department.
- Manage and support the existing Sales & Marketing team, ensuring tasks and campaigns are completed to a high standard and on schedule.
- Oversee the hotel’s marketing activity, including social media, promotions, website updates and digital campaigns.
- Work with the team to develop and implement marketing campaigns that support the hotel’s sales objectives.
- Review and approve marketing content and promotional activity.
- Ensure the hotel’s social media channels and online presence are regularly updated.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure sales and marketing initiatives are effectively delivered.
- Monitor sales and marketing activity and report on results and opportunities to management.
The Ideal Candidate
- Sales-driven, proactive and commercially focused.
- Confident in approaching new businesses and developing new relationships.
- Comfortable making sales calls, arranging meetings and representing the hotel externally.
- A strong communicator with excellent relationship-building skills.
- Target-driven with the ability to identify and convert new business opportunities.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident managing and motivating a small team.
- Able to work independently and take initiative.
- Comfortable using social media and digital marketing platforms.
- Positive, outgoing and personable.
- Fluent and confident in English, both written and spoken.
- Legally permitted to work in Ireland.
- Based locally or willing to relocate.
Experience
- Experience in hotel sales, hospitality, events or conference sales would be an advantage.
- Previous team management or supervisory experience is desirable.
- Experience working with corporate clients and local businesses would be beneficial.
- Full clean driving licence is desirable.
