Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Seafreight Operator will provide a professional and efficient sea freight operations service to both internal and external customers.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Processing shipment bookings for Forwarding operations
- Monitoring shipments from point of customer booking to arrival at final destination and customer payment
- Providing a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers
- Liaising with local and international vendors and agents to ensure that the best rates and services are secured
- Liaising with transport vendors regarding collections or deliveries
- Processing sales and purchases invoices and dealing with any queries relating to customer/creditor invoices
- Dealing with rate requests and issuing quotations
- Customs Clearance awareness – SAD’s, requirements, Etc
- Development of sea freight services
Additional Duties
- Assisting with holiday cover within the operations office
- Providing administration support to other freight departments when required
- Occasional Customer visits
- Projects
Carry out any additional duties which may be assigned from time to time
