North Cork Electrical Ltd is one of Ireland's leading electrical and renewable energy contractors, specialising in electrical installations, solar PV systems, battery storage, EV charging and energy solutions for domestic and commercial customers.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a highly organised Purchasing & Inventory Coordinator to support our operations team and take ownership of stock control, purchasing and supplier management.
The Role
This is a hands-on role responsible for ensuring the right materials are available at the right time while maintaining accurate stock records and supporting purchasing activities across the business.
You will work closely with our warehouse operative, office team, project managers and suppliers to improve stock control, purchasing efficiency and cost management.
Key ResponsibilitiesInventory Management
- Maintain accurate stock records and inventory levels.
- Manage warehouse stock locations and organisation.
- Carry out regular stock counts and cycle counts.
- Monitor stock usage and identify slow-moving or obsolete stock.
- Establish and maintain minimum and maximum stock levels.
- Ensure materials are allocated correctly to projects.
Purchasing
- Raise and manage purchase orders.
- Source pricing from suppliers and obtain quotations.
- Monitor supplier performance and delivery times.
- Compare supplier pricing and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain supplier price lists and product information.
- Process supplier returns and warranty claims.
Warehouse & Operations Support
- Work alongside the warehouse operative to ensure efficient stock control.
- Support goods-in and goods-out processes.
- Assist with tool and equipment tracking.
- Ensure materials are available for upcoming projects.
- Help improve systems and procedures within the warehouse and purchasing functions.
Reporting
- Produce weekly and monthly stock reports.
- Monitor stock value and inventory accuracy.
- Report on purchasing trends and supplier spend.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
What We're Looking For Essentialy
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Strong communication and supplier relationship skills.
- Full driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience in purchasing, inventory control or warehouse administration.
- Experience within the electrical, construction or renewable energy sectors.
- Knowledge of stock control systems and inventory software.
- Experience dealing with electrical wholesalers and suppliers.
