The Director of services is a crucial part of this culture as the Director of Services is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic, operational, and governance oversight of residential services supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities.
The Director of services will be fully engaged in delivering our values throughout the organisation whilst also being focussed on ensuring that the colleagues are providing this experience to our residents. MyWish’s leadership team is there to work with all our colleagues to ensure that the best care standards are applied. We would also like our staff to identify new ideas on how we make the wishes of our residents and their loved ones come true.

Job Title: Director of servicesReports to: CEO / Registered ProviderLocation: Dublin, Meath, Kildare
Hours: Full-time (typically 39 hours/week, with flexibility required)
Salary: Range €74,000 – €85,000 commensurate with experience & qualifications
Job Purpose
To lead the day-to-day operations of the designated residential centres for individuals with intellectual disabilities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care and full compliance with HIQA regulations.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Leadership and Management
- Lead, support and supervise the staff team to deliver high-quality care
- Foster a positive working environment focused on dignity, inclusion, and rights
- Align services with the HSE disability strategy and HIQUA national standards
- Promote a person-centred culture of dignity, respect, inclusion and empowerment
- Act as senior liaison with HSE, Regulators and families.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure all centres are:
- Inspection-ready
- Fully compliant with HIQA regulations
Oversee:
- Audits and quality assurance systems
- Incident management & safeguarding
- Regulatory notifications and action plans
- Maintain strong governance structures
Operational Management
Oversee multiple designated centres
Ensure effective:
- Staffing models
- Rostering and skill mix
- Budget control and cost management
Support and supervise:
- Persons in Charge (PICs)
- Person Participating in Management (PPIM)
Clinical & Care Quality
Ensure:
- Person-centred care planning
- Positive behaviour support
- Safeguarding and protection practices
Monitor outcomes for residents:
- Independence
- Inclusion
- Quality of life
Communication and Liaison
Engage with:
- HSE Disability Managers / RHAs
- Families and advocates
- Inspectors and regulatory bodies
Represent organisation at national level if required
3. Person Specification
- Relevant Level 8 qualification in Social Care, Nursing or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years in management/supervisory role in health or social care
- Hold an appropriate qualification in Health or Social care management, (Min level 6 on the National framework of qualifications)
- In-depth knowledge of HIQA, safeguarding, and person-centred care
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Full clean drivers license
