Furniture Designer (SolidWorks)
Job Type - Permanent Full-Time
Salary – €36,000 to €45,000 DOE
Location – Office based in Athenry, Ireland
Join a long-established, family-run manufacturer specialising in bespoke joinery solutions, including doors, staircases, fire-rated products and architectural woodwork. Combining traditional craftsmanship with modern manufacturing technology, it serves residential and commercial clients across Ireland and the UK.
Due to continued growth, we’re looking for an experienced CAD Draughtsperson / CAD Technician with strong AutoCAD skills and ideally experience using SolidWorks and SWOOD.
The successful candidate will have a background in joinery, furniture manufacturing or bespoke woodworking and will join a growing technical design team supporting projects from concept through to manufacture and installation.
Responsibilities, but are not limited to
- Produce accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings using AutoCAD or SolidWorks/SWOOD
- Develop detailed manufacturing, production, and installation drawing packages
- Create bespoke joinery and furniture designs to meet client specifications
- Prepare door schedules and technical drawings in compliance with relevant certification requirements
- Review project specifications, drawings, and architectural details to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Develop templates and production documentation for use by manufacturing and installation teams
- Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and internal departments on design and technical matters
- Support projects from initial concept through to manufacture and installation
- Respond to technical queries and provide drawing revisions where required
- Coordinate material requirements and place orders to support production schedules
- Ensure all drawings and documentation are completed within project deadlines
Experiences required
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a CAD Draughtsperson, CAD Technician, Technical Designer, or similar role
- Previous experience within joinery, furniture manufacturing, woodworking, or construction sectors
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD
- Experience using SolidWorks and/or SWOOD or similar i.e. (Solid Edge, Inventor, Fusion 360, Onshape)
- Strong understanding of technical and manufacturing drawings
