This Assistant Financial Controller job in Galway will interest you if you like group accounting while leading projects and process improvements in a multinational company environment. Reporting to the Finance Director with a dotted line to the Senior Finance Manager, you will perform group consolidations monthly for a selection of European based entities with retail, distribution and e-commerce operations in each, local accounting teams will prepare entity accounts monthly allowing you to consolidate in line with group reporting standards. As the group function grows you will continue the roll-out of reporting and consolidation processes ensuring a uniform approach across countries. You will support annual group statutory financial statements preparation, ensure robust internal controls exist across entities and co-ordinate external audits across group subsidiaries.
Projects
As the new Assistant Financial Controller you will also drive projects, they will include further automating processes such as intercompany recharges and championing the adoption of AI in subsidiaries in areas such as AP as well as introducing new internal controls and technical accounting projects. This company have a dedicated AI team who partner with functions across the business to adopt automated approaches to tasks and you can leverage this team as you manage projects.

The package on offer is between €70,000-€78,000 including base salary, discretionary bonus, hybrid working, 23 days annual leave, life assurance cover, company pension contributions and generous maternity and paternity benefits.
To thrive as the Assistant Financial Controller you will need to be Big 4/Top 10 practice trained with 2-6 years’ industry PQE and an aptitude for project management and process improvements.
