About the Role
As an Electrical Construction Manager, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of complex electrical works on major construction projects. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing site activities, coordinating subcontractors and direct labour, driving programme delivery, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity are achieved. Working closely with project engineers, construction teams, consultants, suppliers, and client representatives, you will oversee the installation and commissioning of electrical systems from mobilisation through to project handover.
Responsibilities

Lead the day-to-day management of electrical construction activities on site.

Coordinate electrical installations to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.

Review drawings, specifications, and design documentation to support successful project execution.

Participate in design and constructability reviews, identifying potential risks and opportunities.

Manage and coordinate specialist subcontractors, vendors, and direct labour resources.

Ensure weekly and short-term work plans are developed, communicated, and achieved.

Monitor site productivity and implement corrective actions where required to maintain programme targets.

Work closely with Project Engineers to ensure materials, equipment, information, and labour resources are available to support planned activities.

Assist the Project Manager with programme development, sequencing, and progress reporting.

Conduct regular site inspections and quality walk-downs to ensure installations meet project specifications and company standards.

Support testing, commissioning, and handover activities.

Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with the company's health, safety, quality, and environmental procedures.

Maintain effective communication with project stakeholders regarding progress, risks, constraints, and mitigation plans.

Coordinate with consultants, client representatives, subcontractors, planners, quantity surveyors, and the wider project team.
Requirements

An electrical trade qualification is essential.

7+ years' experience managing electrical construction activities within an M&E subcontractor or specialist contractor environment.

Proven experience delivering electrical packages on large-scale commercial, industrial, advanced technology, pharmaceutical, healthcare, data centre, or similar projects.

Strong understanding of electrical installations, power distribution systems, fire alarm systems, security systems, and associated building services.

Experience managing subcontractors, site resources, and programme delivery.

Strong understanding of quality assurance, testing, commissioning, and handover processes.

Excellent leadership, delegation, and organisational skills.

Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary project team.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
