We have a vacancy for an administrator role in our society. The candidate will be based primarily in the show office in Curraheen Road, Bishopstown, Co. Cork, T12 W935, working closely with our dynamic in-house team and reporting directly to the board of directors.
The society’s role is in the promotion and education of agricultural, which embodies food production, animal welfare, horticulture and gardening and arts and crafts. We have a huge collection of interests with members though out the city and county, and the role would suit someone who likes people, variety and creativity.
Ideally, we would like a full-time person (39-hour week), but it can be a flexible role as we will require some flexibility around the date of our annual Cork Summer Show and evening meetings.
Job Description
We are keen to hear from candidates who are looking for the opportunity to have a role which contributes to social and environmental fabric of our County, with the following strengths:
· Good interpersonal and communication skills
· A key requirement of the position is to have outstanding organisational skills and the
ability to prioritise according to importance and urgency while working to tight deadlines.
· Excellent motivation, commitment and enthusiasm, good time management skills and attention to detail
Key Responsibilities include:
· Preparation for annual show and liaising with various steering groups, contractors and volunteers.
· Liaising with marketing consultants and website designers.
· Working with the accounts department on bookkeeping tasks:
o Inputting invoices
o Reconciling creditors statements
o Inputting bank payments for approval by board.
o Processing of receipts.
· Ensure the society’s properties are maintained and fit for purpose.
· Attendance at meetings with stakeholders and directors.
· Assist with the promotion of membership and our annual show.
· Assistance with project management for our site in Curraheen.
· Assistance with Charity Governance reporting.
· Reception duties and administration.
The Person:
- Fluent English with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Highly organised and ability to manage and meet all deadlines
- Self-motivated
- Ability to work in a team environment, support team colleagues and direct contractors or volunteers as necessary
- Bookkeeping experience
- Proficiency in MS office especially Excel and Word
- Knowledge of Sage Accounting an advantage.
