With the new site now fully operational since July 2022 we need to recruit further Goods in Warehouse Operatives to meet the demand we are experiencing. As a Warehouse Operative at Nisbets you will join an inclusive business that supports the individual in their development and career aspirations and encourages you to share ideas about how to make improvements. Nisbets are looking to recruit Warehouse Operatives with experience within Warehousing.
Shift Pattern -6 am to 3 pm Monday to Friday.
What will I be doing as a Warehouse Operative?
- Conduct any warehouse tasks as directed by line management, including but not limited to picking, packing,replenishment, goods in, loading and unloading of vehicles, and stock counting. For all tasks, ensure that accuracy and quality are adhered to in all instances.
- Where required, use pallet trucks and powered pallet trucks (PPTs) adhering to safety standards and training at all times.
- Maintain health and safety standards in all areas of the Warehouse, ensuring a tidy working area at all times. Any mandatory PPE must be worn at all times and kept in good repair, with defect promptly reported.
- Ensure the timely reporting of all hazards and all safety concerns.
- Use technology including handheld terminals, scanners and PC equipment as required and ensure the equipment is looked after, reporting any defects or damage immediately.
- Maintain a level of productivity and accuracy as set by the management team.
- Report any discrepancies, including shortages, incorrect product locations and damage as they become apparent.
- Carry out any other tasks as required by the Operations management team..
What are we looking for in a Warehouse Operative?
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment is desirable.
- Ability to manage workloads effectively and meet targets and deadlines.
- Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail, with strong multitasking and problem-solving abilities.
- A valid Counterbalance licence is advantageous.
