This internship provides an opportunity for design graduates to gain valuable experience bridging the gap between study and work. They will be in a position to develop their skills and knowledge base in a workplace setting under the full support and guidance of a SETU mentor. In addition, the intern will be able to apply their knowledge in a real work environment, gain networking opportunities and build their confidence, thus enhancing their career prospects.
The purpose of the role is to play an important part in the promotion of the University to prospective applicants and to provide general support and assistance to the Design+ Functions within SETU.
The intern will be working directly with the Design+ staff and their clients to assist with the following:
- Communicating idea solutions through a number of concepts
- Visually presenting the concepts to the clients for feedback
- Developing the concepts based on feedback
- Building and prototyping solutions as proof of concept
- Operating and maintaining of all the 3D printers
- Participating in client meetings and creative reviews to discuss their needs and expectations
- Efficiently manage multiple projects at a time
- Efficiently manage all projects files and documents
- Carry out other duties as assigned by the line manager or other manager of the University
- Undertake other duties as required by the Design+ Gateway Business Development Manager or other designated person
