Part-Time Bar & Café Assistant
An Grianán Theatre, Letterkenny
An Grianán Theatre is looking for enthusiastic, friendly, and reliable individuals to join our Bar & Café team on a part-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a vibrant theatre environment, providing excellent customer service to audiences attending a wide variety of performances and events.
About the Role
As a Bar & Café Assistant, you will play an important part in ensuring our patrons enjoy a welcoming and efficient service before performances, during intervals, and after shows. You'll work as part of a supportive team in a fast-paced environment where no two shifts are the same.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and serving hot and cold beverages, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and light refreshments.
- Providing friendly, professional customer service to theatre patrons.
- Operating the till and handling cash and card payments accurately.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene throughout the bar and café areas.
- Restocking supplies and ensuring displays are well presented.
- Assisting with opening and closing duties.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth service during busy performance times.
- Following all health, safety, and responsible serving procedures.
What We're Looking For
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Ability to remain calm and efficient in a busy environment.
- Previous experience in hospitality, bar, café, or retail is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
- Flexibility and reliability, with availability to work evenings and weekends.
Hours of Work
This is a part-time, flexible position. Please note that working hours will vary from week to week and are directly linked to the theatre's programme and audience attendance. As show schedules and audience capacity fluctuate throughout the year, there is no guaranteed number of weekly hours, and shifts will be allocated according to operational requirements. Successful applicants should therefore be available to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and occasional daytime events.
What We Offer
- A welcoming and supportive working environment.
- The opportunity to work as part of a vibrant arts and cultural venue.
- Full training and ongoing support.
- A varied role where you'll be part of exciting live events and performances.
If you enjoy working with people, thrive in a lively atmosphere, and are looking for flexible part-time work, we'd love to hear from you.
