About the Company
We are expanding, we are about to take on a new venture, and we are looking for a Bar Manager to join our group management team.
Currently the group consists of 2 pubs, The Step Inn in Stepaside and Revels Bar in Rathfarnham Village. The Step Inn food is huge part of the business and consists of a high volume combination of restaurant quality food and gastro pub with staple and signature dishes. Revels is bar that produces gastro pub favourite dishes with the addition of a tapas /small bits menu.
The new venture based in South Dublin will look to recreate The Step Inn menu & vibe.
Role Purpose
The Bar Manager is responsible for the overall operation, performance, and profitability of the bar. This includes leading and developing the bar team, delivering exceptional customer experiences, maintaining high standards of service and compliance, managing stock and costs, and driving sales growth.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the bar.
- Ensure smooth and efficient service during all trading periods.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and venue appearance.
- Implement and uphold company policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Manage opening and closing procedures.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, motivate, and develop bar staff.
- Create and manage staff rotas in line with business needs and labour budgets.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and coaching sessions.
- Foster a positive, professional, and high-performing team culture.
- Manage disciplinary and performance issues where required.
Customer Experience
- Deliver exceptional guest service and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Handle customer feedback and resolve complaints professionally and promptly.
- Build relationships with regular customers and encourage repeat business.
- Maintain a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
Financial Management
- Manage bar revenue, costs, and profitability targets.
- Monitor labour costs and scheduling efficiency.
- Control stock levels and minimise wastage.
- Conduct regular stock takes and investigate variances.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Drive sales through promotions, events, and upselling initiatives.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with all licensing laws and regulations.
- Maintain food safety, health and safety, and responsible alcohol service standards.
- Ensure all staff are trained on compliance requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and complete required reporting.
Product & Service Development
- Develop and update beverage menus.
- Work with suppliers to source products and negotiate pricing where appropriate.
- Monitor industry trends and introduce new products and initiatives.
- Ensure quality and consistency across all drinks served.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Minimum 2years' experience in an Irish bar management or senior supervisory role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Experience managing stock, ordering, and inventory control.
- Understanding of budgeting, labour management, and cost control.
- Knowledge of licensing and health & safety requirements.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
Desirable
- Experience in high-volume hospitality venues.
- Cocktail, wine, or spirits knowledge.
- Relevant hospitality or management qualifications.
- Experience with POS and inventory management systems.

Pay: €40,000.00-€47,000.00 per year
