We are currently recruiting for a Quality & HSE (QHSE) Co-Ordinator who will be responsible for supporting and maintaining Quality Assurance/Control and Health, Safety & Environment activities at the Moynalty site, ensuring compliance with company standards, customer requirements, and relevant regulatory obligations.
The role provides a visible on-site Quality and HSE presence, supporting quality control testing, audit readiness, site inspections, product traceability and the effective maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS). The post-holder will assist with external audits and customer visits, manage product positive release processes, and conduct product quality assessments to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality products. The position also has responsibility for coordinating and monitoring the site's waste management and hygiene functions, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and regulatory standards. In addition, the role provides technical support and operational backup to the Formulations Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- To conduct regular Hygiene and Housekeeping checks and provide direction to ensure the site is maintained in a hygienic manner.
- To conduct regular HSE ‘safety walks’ and provide direction to ensure the site is maintained to minimise hazards.
- To ensure raw material / finished goods traceability is maintained.
- To review SCADA (Ignition) / Business Central issues from Quality perspective.
- To co-ordinate, communicate and investigate non-conforming product.
- To collect samples / swabs in relation to QC sampling programme and send samples / swabs to the designated laboratory for testing in a timely manner.
- To review results from external testing and escalate any issues to Group Quality Management in a timely manner.
- Review and Implement Quality and HSE procedures within the production and storage processes.
- Risk Assessment & SOP review to ensure the safety of the workforce.
- Promote and mentor the workforce in behavioural based safety.
- Incident management through reporting and investigations for effective corrective action.
- To maintain the retained finished goods samples and production records (for the appropriate time period).
- To check that the following is carried out by Operations
- To ensure samples are taken from each production batch.
- To ensure weigh scale calibration checks are complete.
- To verify the mini-bulk packing weight checks are carried out.
- To confirm check weighing of finished product is carried out.
- To verify stitching of production to ensure its satisfactory standard.
- To ensure macro/micro/dispensary/assembly traceability is recorded.
- To conduct packaging checks for presentation of finished products. Pallets, labels, etc
- To conduct QC release of finished goods prior to despatch, when required.
- To train and mentor new operators on Quality / HSE procedures.
- To carry out a physical check on rework material to confirm correct products details.
- To conduct Incoming raw material sampling checks.
- To assist in the investigation of customer complaints.
- To assist with Raw material, Finished goods and Non-conforming stocktakes.
- To ensure the correct storage of specific raw materials.
- To conduct Internal audits/process audits of Moynalty processes (Quality and HSE)
- To conduct regular Fire drills at the Moynalty site.
- To maintain a Glass/Hard plastic register and conduct monthly audits
- As a member of the HACCP team, participate in HACCP reviews to effectively manage any feed safety hazards.
- To conduct regular traceability audits and paperwork compliance checks.
- To participate in monthly Group Quality Review meetings, presenting a monthly summary.
- As onsite contact for Pest Control contractor, co-ordinate ComServ recommendations to ensure corrective action taken in a timely manner.
- Review issues raised on the Safety Culture app for Moynalty site, to ensure effective and timely closure.
- Identifying potential Quality / Feed Safety / HSE risks and manage assurance activities to reduce impact in the business.
- Conduct site relevant administrative tasks.
- Deploy lean thinking to reduce waste and drive more efficient use of raw materials.
- Contribute to Business Development and success of current projects by effective teamwork and communication of appropriate information and intelligence, together with any project specific information.
- Be an active member of the team and be involved in all aspects of new products, from the product development and concept right through to full production launch.
- Carry out, as instructed, any task as deemed reasonable by the line manager or Director in the interest of the Company.
