As part of the Platform Engineering team, you'll help drive the evolution of a cloud-native environment, focusing on infrastructure automation, containerisation and platform reliability. This role would suit someone who enjoys designing scalable cloud platforms, automating infrastructure, and continually improving engineering practices.
Required skills:
- At least 3+ years experience in a Senior Platform Engineer, Cloud Engineer or DevOps Engineer position
- Strong hands-on AWS experience, including designing highly available and resilient cloud environments
- Proven experience working with AWS ECS and container-based workloads
- Experience delivering container migration projects
- Strong knowledge of AWS services covering compute, networking, databases and security
- Commercial experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
- Hands-on experience implementing and managing Datadog
- Strong scripting skills using Python and/or Bash
- Good understanding of cloud security, container security and infrastructure best practices
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering teams
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities within an Agile delivery environment
Key responsibilities & duties include:
- Design, implement and support scalable AWS infrastructure
- Lead the migration of containerised applications to AWS ECS
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions
- Configure and optimise monitoring, alerting and observability using Datadog
- Partner with software engineering teams to streamline deployments and improve platform usability
- Ensure security, resilience and operational best practices are embedded across the platform
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and production issues while driving long-term improvements
- Contribute to platform architecture and cloud engineering standards
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across automation, performance and reliability
