Gourmet Food Parlour (GFP) is looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our team across Browns Brasserie and Edition Cafe within Brown Thomas Department Store, Dublin City Centre.
Working closely with the Restaurant Manager, you will support the overall management of both outlets, helping to lead the team and ensure consistently high standards of food, service and customer experience.
This is a hands-on management role for someone who enjoys being involved in the day-to-day operation, developing people and helping a busy hospitality team perform at its best.
Working within Brown Thomas also provides the opportunity to support in-store events, brand activations and client hospitality, working closely with GFP and Brown Thomas teams.
You will work closely with the Restaurant Manager, Head Chef, Quality Control Manager and wider Operations Team to ensure the restaurants operate efficiently and in line with GFP standards.
Operations & Leadership

Support the Restaurant Manager in overseeing the daily operation of Browns Brasserie and Edition Cafe.

Lead and support the team to deliver efficient, professional service.

Assist with staff scheduling, training, coaching and development.

Support supervisors and team members, helping to maintain a positive and motivated working environment.

Take responsibility for the operation when required and ensure effective handovers between management shifts.
Customer Experience

Ensure consistently high standards of customer service across both outlets.

Deal confidently with customer feedback and complaints.

Build positive relationships with regular customers and Brown Thomas clients.
Food Quality & Compliance

Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to maintain food quality, presentation and service standards.

Ensure HACCP, food safety, hygiene and cleaning standards are maintained.

Work with the Quality Control Manager to address any compliance or operational issues.
Financial & Operational Performance

Monitor sales, labour costs and operational performance.

Support stock control, cash handling and cost management.

Assist the Restaurant Manager in achieving operational and financial targets.
Events & Client Experience

Support the coordination of in-store events, brand activations and private bookings.

Liaise with the reservations team and key clients to ensure bookings and events run smoothly.

Work closely with Brown Thomas teams to support the wider store experience.
Communication

Maintain clear communication with the Restaurant Manager, Duty Managers, Head Chef, Quality Control and Operations Teams.

Communicate operational issues, team performance and customer feedback effectively.

Ensure GFP policies, procedures and standards are consistently followed.

Previous experience in an Assistant Manager, Supervisor or similar management role within hospitality.

Minimum 2 years' hospitality experience.

Strong leadership and people-management skills.

A hands-on approach with the ability to lead by example.

Experience managing or supporting a busy hospitality team.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and HACCP procedures.

Commercial awareness and an understanding of sales, labour and cost control.

Ability to work effectively with both front-of-house and kitchen teams.

Fluent English, both spoken and written.
