The RoleThe Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Advisor will play a key role in supporting compliance with company, national, and European Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) standards. Working closely with internal teams and stakeholders, you will provide expert guidance, support the implementation of safety policies, and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements across your assigned region.
Key Responsibilities

Support the implementation of Occupational Health & Safety plans, policies, and procedures across regional operations

Provide guidance and practical support to employees and OHS specialists to ensure compliance with safety standards

Communicate OHS strategies, programmes, and updates effectively across teams

Collaborate with the Health & Safety team to review feedback and improve HSQE plans

Stay up to date with OHS legislation and industry best practice

Promote a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible working environment

Conduct audits and inspections of work activities and equipment, reporting findings and ensuring corrective actions are implemented

Support risk assessments, hazard identification, and incident investigations

Assist in statutory reporting of workplace incidents in line with current legislation

Monitor and analyse OHS performance data, identifying trends and recommending improvements

Work closely with third-party contractors to ensure adherence to OHS policies

Deliver training, guidance, and coaching on health and safety practices to teams and managers
Requirements

Relevant third-level qualification, accreditation, or equivalent experience in Health & Safety

Minimum of 3 years' experience in water, utilities, or a similar industry (desirable)

Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships

Proven ability to manage complex issues proactively and communicate effectively

Highly motivated with a commitment to maintaining high professional standards

Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues and implement solutions

Adaptable, with the ability to respond to changing business needs and priorities

Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives
