Management Accountant – Childcare Group

As part of this journey, we are seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Management Accountant to join our finance team at our head office in Gort, Co. Galway. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and wants to play a key role in supporting strategic growth initiatives.
The Role
Reporting to senior leadership, the Management Accountant will be responsible for the preparation and consolidation of management accounts across multiple sites, financial reporting, acquisition support, payroll oversight, and assisting with financial compliance within the childcare sector.
The successful candidate will also play an important role in the company’s transition from Sage 50 Accounts to Sage Intacct over the coming months.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts for multiple childcare locations
- Prepare consolidated management accounts for reporting to the UK parent company and private equity stakeholders
- Produce monthly board reports and financial analysis packs
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management, and variance analysis
- Support the financial assessment and integration of potential acquisition targets
- Gather and analyse financial information from acquisition opportunities for review by senior management
- Liaise closely with the billing and administration teams to ensure accurate revenue reporting and debtor management
- Assist with financial compliance and reporting requirements relating to government funding schemes within the childcare sector
- Oversee payroll processing for the group with support from the existing finance and administration team
- Support the implementation and transition from Sage 50 to Sage Intacct
- Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, controls, and reporting processes
- Support audit preparation and statutory compliance requirements
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent)
- Previous experience in a management accounting role, ideally across multi-site operations
- Strong financial reporting and analytical skills
- Experience preparing consolidated management accounts desirable
- Experience supporting acquisitions, due diligence, or financial analysis would be an advantage
- Strong systems experience, ideally with Sage 50 and/or Sage Intacct
- Payroll experience advantageous
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and evolving environment
