The above vacancy has arisen within the Nursing Department, Respiratory / Medical Unit (John Paul Unit)
This role is on a permanent, part time basis working 18.5 hours per week.
The role:

Responsible for the co-ordination of the administrative duties of the unit.

Scanning of Medical Records.

Collaborating with the nursing staff in all patient dealings.

Exercise initiative and diplomacy when dealing with patient care issues.

Work with all unit staff creating an efficient, safe friendly environment for care delivery.

Liaise with other departments

Maintain daily census. Weekly stats to management.

Prompt discharge of patients off system once discharged
-
Transfer, admit and edit patient details as necessary.

Prepare order entry requests.

Communication with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Order bloods, and deliver specimens to the laboratory
-
General office duties including, maintaining office supplies, reporting complaints, assist patients with Hi Med, organising appointments for patients, manage locker key for unit staff.

Any other duties as required.
The Candidate:
- 2 years experience in a previous administration role, ideally in a healthcare setting

Excellent computer skills
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills

Demonstrate the initiative, drive and enthusiasm to carry out the role successfully

Ability to work professionally at all times when dealing with patients, staff and the public

Be able to multi-task and prioritise effectively. Flexibility essential.

Self motivated, highly organised, able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
