Green Isle Foods is a respectable food production business that was established in 1959.
We are looking for a maintenance technician to work at our location in Gurteen, County Sligo. (Eircode: F56 PC62)
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the production machinery, utilities systems, and general site infrastructure throughout both day and night shifts. Another part of the work is running and maintaining the wastewater treatment plant while ensuring compliance with environmental requirements.
The technician may have to work on the weekends to finish repairs or upgrade projects that cannot be finished during production, in addition to offering callout assistance for issues that emerge after hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive preventative maintenance (PPM) on conveyors, freezing, transfer, and filleting lines.
- Investigate mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues.
- Cut down on production downtime by promptly addressing issues.
- Systems for refrigeration, compressed air, water, and wastewater treatment should all be kept an eye on and maintained.
- Ensure that discharge permits are adhered to by maintaining and operating the wastewater treatment facility.
- Investigate and resolve utility problems as soon as you can.
- Carry out general site maintenance, including plumbing, lighting, drainage, doors, and building fabric.
- Promote continuous improvements to safety, hygiene, and environmental regulations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Recognized proficiency in mechanical, electrical, or multiskilled engineering.
- Two to three years of experience in a fast-paced industrial or food processing environment is advantageous.
- Being aware of how wastewater treatment facilities operate and what is needed to comply (benefit).
- Excellent understanding of refrigeration, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
