About the Role
Lily & Wild are looking for an experienced and hands-on Chef in Charge to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of our kitchen.
You will lead the kitchen team, maintain consistently high food and service standards, and ensure the kitchen operates efficiently, safely and within budget. This is a hands-on role suited to a confident chef who enjoys leading a team and taking ownership of kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the kitchen.
- Lead, motivate and support the kitchen team.
- Plan and organise daily kitchen production and service.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented to a consistently high standard.
- Maintain excellent food quality, portion control and presentation.
- Manage food preparation, ordering, stock control and waste.
- Monitor food costs and work within agreed budgets.
- Ensure sufficient staffing levels and effective allocation of duties.
- Train and develop kitchen team members.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and HACCP compliance.
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed.
- Monitor allergens and ensure accurate allergen information is maintained.
- Complete relevant kitchen records, temperature checks and cleaning schedules.
- Work closely with the management to resolve operational issues.
- Lead by example and maintain a professional, positive working environment.
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum of 3 years previous experience as a Chef in Charge, Sous Chef or senior Chef.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations and food safety.
- Proven experience managing and developing a kitchen team.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- Good understanding of stock control, ordering and food costs.
- Strong attention to detail and high standards.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- HACCP/food safety knowledge and relevant training.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary of €35,000–€40,000 per year, depending on relevant experience
