The Opportunity
We are currently looking for an HSQE Manager to join our team. This is a site-based role supporting infrastructure projects across the southern half of Ireland.
As ESK's lead HSQE professional, you will take ownership of the company's Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental function. This is an opportunity for an experienced and proactive individual to implement and continuously improve our HSQE systems, promote a strong safety culture and support the successful delivery of projects across the business. Reporting directly to senior management, you will have the responsibility and autonomy to drive standards throughout the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage ESK's Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental function.
- Develop, implement and continuously improve the company's HSQE systems, policies and procedures.
- Promote and maintain a positive safety culture across all projects and throughout the business.
- Carry out regular site inspections, audits and compliance reviews.
- Prepare and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), Construction Stage Health & Safety Plans, Environmental Management Plans and other HSQE documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, ISO management systems and all relevant health, safety and environmental legislation.
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and HSQE training.
- Monitor quality throughout construction and ensure works are completed in accordance with project specifications.
- Maintain HSQE records and prepare reports for senior management and clients.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors and regulatory bodies on all HSQE matters.
- Support the maintenance and continual improvement of ESK's ISO management systems.
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management or a related discipline.
- 2+ years' experience in an HSQE role within the construction, civil engineering or infrastructure sector.
- Working knowledge of ISO Management Systems, Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), and Construction Stage Health & Safety Plans.
- Good understanding of Irish health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
- A confident and proactive individual with the ability to work independently and take ownership of ESK's HSQE function.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the confidence to engage with site teams, subcontractors and clients.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Full driving licence.
