Key Responsibilities:
The Forge Gastrobar is a well-established, located 10km outside of Galway known for delivering exceptional hospitality and a memorable dining experience. Our food offering is central to our reputation, combining quality, creativity, and locally sourced ingredients.
We are now seeking a passionate and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and drive the continued success of our culinary offering.
- Manage food ordering, stock control, and supplier relationships.
- Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control.
- Manage food costs, gross profit margins, and kitchen budgets.
- Lead, train, motivate, and develop chefs and kitchen porters.
- Schedule, delegate, and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient service.
- Reduce waste and improve operational efficiency.
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Head Chef.
- Experience working in a high-qualitycrestaurant.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and kitchen compliance.
- Proven ability in menu development and team management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
