Personal Assistant – Job Description (Simple Version)About the role
This job is to support a young woman to live the life she chooses. You will help her at home and in the community with everyday tasks, social activities, and building independence.
A big part of the role is listening, supporting her choices, and helping her plan her day. Every day may be different, so flexibility is important.
You will support her to become more independent over time. This may include helping, encouraging, reminding, demonstrating tasks, or doing things together depending on what she needs.
Good communication with her and her family is very important.
What you will help with
You will support her with things like:
- Going out and taking part in social activities
- Meeting people and building friendships
- Trying new hobbies and activities
- Cooking and preparing meals
- Exercise and staying active
- Planning her day and daily routines
- Using public or private transport
- Money skills and decision-making
- Personal care (washing, dressing, toileting if needed)
- Going to activities like yoga, gym, swimming, etc.
- Using social media to find local events and activities

A full clean driving licence is required.
Working hours and pay
- Minimum 12 hours per week (flexible)
- Pay:
- €18/hour (Mon–Fri)
- €20/hour (evenings/Saturdays)
- €25/hour (Sundays and bank holidays)
- Overnight rates apply at minimum wage
Other details
- Work starts at her home and continues in the community
- Garda vetting is required
- Training will be provided
- One-month trial period, followed by a six-month probation
- Must be willing to travel for activities
- Own transport required for commuting
