DBS Group is an established, family-run main contractor based in Portarlington, delivering projects across the commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, public, residential, conservation and fit-out sectors throughout Leinster, including Dublin. We are a tight-knit team where surveyors work directly with senior management, own their projects end to end, and get exposure to a genuinely varied workload.
Current live projects include multi-use development, pharmaceutical works, refurbishment and conservation projects, and public-sector contract frameworks.
In an ever-growing team we have a current requirement for a Quantity Surveyor. As the business continues to grow, this role offers a clear path toward senior commercial responsibility for the right person. This position would suit an experienced quantity surveyor who is confident managing projects independently, while working closely with the contracts team, administration team and other surveyors within the office.
Role:
- Assist in full tender cycle including takeoff, subcontractor and supplier cost procurement and rating of BOQ
- Take ownership of full project scope working alongside Contracts Mangers and site managers
- Manage subcontractor and specialist package procurement from tender stage through to final account, including technical submittal process.
- Prepare valuations, manage variations and provide regular project cost reports.
- Maintain and update procurement and rate schedules.
- Assist BCAR processes.
- Attend site visits for meetings, measurements and progress records.
What You’ll Bring:
- Minimum 3-5 years industry experience as a QS with a main contractor or similar.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying
- A track record of taking projects from tender stage right through to handover
- Proven ability in cost planning, procurement and risk management
- Experience working with public contracts is a bonus
- Experience with Buildsoft, Cubit and Excel. Procore experience is an advantage.
