The AA is embarking on an exciting growth and transformation phase and is seeking to recruit a Workshop Technician (Mechanic).
The Technician you will carry out all repair, maintenance and service work as directed by the Service Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities and focus areas for this role will include the following:
- Undertake servicing, maintenance, and repairs (SMR) to customer cars in accordance with AA & manufacturers procedures ensuring that they are returned in a clean and good mechanical order.
- Inspection, assessment and diagnosis of vehicle issues.
- Identify parts required for vehicles as part of the additional work a vehicle may require while in the workshop
- Record accurately SMR activities via jobcard/DMS/eVHC
- Ensure the cleanliness, maintenance and security of the workshop premises, equipment and vehicles in line with best Health & Safety practices.
- Ensure tooling is being stored away in correct areas after use
- Answer queries regarding any aspect of the above in liaison with the appropriate staff.
- Ad hoc duties as directed by the Service manager
Minimum qualifications, experience & skills:
- Qualified motor Mechanic - QQI level 6 equivalent qualification
- Time served as a motor mechanic.
- Sound practical knowledge of mechanical and electrical workings of motor vehicles and an ability to affect repairs.
- Must have current driving licence and ability to make clear written statements.
