The Role
Join our engineering team as an EPLAN Designer responsible for developing electrical schematics and control systems for medium to large-scale projects and assisting with project estimation. You'll work directly with clients, collaborate with our production team, and have real influence on projects from conception to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- EPLAN Design: Create detailed electrical schematics, control circuits, and panel layouts using EPLAN Pro Panel
- Project Delivery: Manage design workflows for multiple concurrent projects from estimation to final design
- Technical Documentation: Produce comprehensive packages including single-line diagrams, wiring schedules, cable lists, technical submissions, and component specifications
- Quality Control: Ensure all designs comply with IS EN 60204, IS EN 61439, and Irish electrical standards
- Client Engagement: Present technical solutions and manage design revisions with clients
- Team Collaboration: Work with mechanical engineers, manufacturing teams, and site engineers
About You
Essential Requirements
- EPLAN Experience: At least 3 years professional EPLAN Pro Panel design experience (EPLAN Certified preferred)
- Electrical Knowledge: Solid understanding of control circuits, industrial electrical systems, and electrical principles
- Technical Standards: Knowledge of Irish and European electrical standards (IS 60204, EN 61439)
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to technical documentation with zero tolerance for errors
- Communication: Ability to explain complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Desirable Experience
- Background in data centre, commercial and industrial, or mission-critical infrastructure
- Experience with cable calculation software (Cable Pro) or other design tools
- Familiarity with electrical panel manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of building services or ME (Mechanical, Electrical) projects
- AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design software experience
