Sugradh Kimallock (Bizzi Kids) is a full day care creche service located in Kilmallock.
Duties and Responsibilities
Work in partnership with the centre Manager to ensure the smooth day to day running of the creche.
This position is not solely an administration position. It involves working in the rooms also.
- Manage and oversee the childcare service, including direct service provision and day-to-day supervision of childcare workers.
- To administer and manage the service in line with policies and procedures and meeting the requirements of relevant funding organisations.
- Manage a budget and maintain accounts.
- Maintain all records as required by Pobal and the HSE and other relevant organisations.
- Network with appropriate statutory and voluntary agencies.
- Inform childcare workers of policies and procedures in relation to good practice and facilitate adherence to it.
- Liaise with play leaders regarding each child’s observation and assessment.
- Encourage and facilitate training and good practice by liaising with relevant agencies e.g. Tusla, Tipperary County Childcare Committee, and National Childcare organisations.
- Ensure creche is adequately insured and all safety equipment is maintained and regularly serviced, eg fire equipment, etc.
- Adopt a professional outlook at all times to childcare issues and present a positive approach to development in respect of:
Þ New legislation
Þ Measures taken to further protect children
Þ Staff supervision, training and development
Þ Partnership with and participation of parents/carers
Þ Evaluation and development of services
- Report to and attend Management meetings and provide written reports.
- Co-ordinate and lead staff meetings.
- Prioritise the waiting list in conjunction for the ECCE scheme and NCS.
- Recruitment of staff in consultation with the Management Board.
- Setting up weekly working rosters and maintaining records of hours worked.
- Submitting details for staff wages to Kildangan Education Centre LTD on a weekly basis.
- Monitoring and maintaining a record of staff holidays.
- Liaise with parents on a regular basis regarding the ongoing progress and development of their children.
- To set simple clear limits for children, which are consistently followed and encourage a positive approach to dealing with any issues that may arise.
- Maintain high levels of hygiene at the creche.
- Develop ongoing positive relationships with parents and also the wider community.
- Manage the social media / online presence of the creche.
- Maintain strict confidentiality any breach of confidentiality about children or their families will constitute gross misconduct.
- Carry out any other duties as reasonably requested by Kildangan Education Centre LTD.
Personal Specification
- FETAC Level 6 or higher.
- Minimum 3 years work experience.
- Ability to lead a team.
- Kindness, warmth and responsiveness to the needs of children.
- Good Communication and Relating Skills with children, staff and parents.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations.
- Complete Garda Vetting.
- Experience with administration and budget management.
- Ability to delegate effectively.
- Strong computer skills.
- First aid skills.
- Appreciation of need for strict confidentiality.
- Honesty and reliability.
- Good time keeping.
