Hours: 39 hours per week. Mon to Thurs: 7:30am – 4:00pm. Early finish most Fridays at 1:00pm
Salary: €45,000-48,000 DOE
Join our dynamic and industry-leading team at Davenham Switchgear, part of the Legrand Group, in this exciting opportunity. Reporting directly to the Health & Safety Manager, the Health & Safety Advisor will play a key role in overseeing safety, health, and welfare across our production facilities in Cherry Orchard and Clondalkin, Dublin. These sites include low voltage electrical power distribution panel manufacturing, as well as associated stores and office spaces.
The successful candidate will be required to regularly visit and support all production facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure Davenham complies with all relevant statutory health, safety, and welfare requirements.
- Support the ongoing development and improvement of EH&S performance in line with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Recommend and implement appropriate health and safety improvements in collaboration with relevant departments and the H&S Manager.
- Carry out regular inspections and audits across production facilities and client sites.
- Ensure all equipment is subject to required statutory inspections, testing, and examinations.
- Assist in coordinating maintenance related to health, safety, and welfare.
- Ensure all incidents, including near misses, are reported, investigated, and followed up with effective corrective actions.
- Conduct and document risk assessments and hazard identification for facilities, equipment, and operational activities.
- Review and update health and safety policies, procedures, and risk assessments as required.
- Organise and deliver relevant health and safety training, identifying additional training needs where necessary.
- Ensure appropriate PPE is provided and correctly used by all employees.
- Test and evaluate emergency procedures at regular intervals to ensure effectiveness.
- Support contractor management, including pre-qualification, review of RAMS, inductions, and ongoing monitoring.
- Carry out any other duties related to health, safety, and welfare management as required.
Qualifications & Skills
- NEBOSH General Certificate or an equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
- Previous experience in a similar role; manufacturing or industrial experience is desirable.
- Proven experience leading projects and implementing initiatives.
- Experience conducting site audits, including on client sites, to ensure compliance.
- Strong background in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Experience developing, implementing, and reviewing health and safety documentation and procedures.
- In-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Full clean driving licence and access to transport.
