Environmental Health & Safety Manager
Major global market presence in the manufacturing of building materials are seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Manager in Cavan.
THE COMPANY:
Our client is the market leader in building materials manufacturing. A major authority in the Irish construction industry, our client has been manufacturing in Ireland for over 50 years and have been involved in many of the biggest and most prestigious commercial building projects in Ireland during that time. Looking to the future our client is determined to remain at the forefront of the market and with the backing of their group, and a turnover in the billions, our client is well placed to excel, and it is due to this that they are seeking a new Environmental Health and Safety Manager in Cavan.
THE ROLE:
The successful candidate will be based on site in Cavan and will have the following duties:
- Full Management over the companies EHS plan
- Develop and Implement Environmental Health & Safety plan for the business - manage compliance with ISO 14001 and regulatory bodies.
- Liaise with local councils, environmental authorities, and EPA.
- Conduct site inspections and audits
- Carry our risk assessments and audits and put together SOPs and method statements.
- Document incidents and near misses and implement corrective actions
- Develop and nurture a strong health and safety culture on site and provide training to staff when required.
THE PERSON:
We are looking to speak to applicants from the following backgrounds:
- The ideal candidate will have prior experience working as an Environmental Health & Safety manager or officer
- There will be a big emphasis on the environmental compliance of the company, so prior experience dealing with external bodies such as the EPA will be a distinct advantage
