Job Purpose
To ensure that all areas of the hotel are being kept to the maintenance standard. Ensure that preventive maintenance and emergency fixes are done in a quick and suitable manner with as little disturbance to the operations as possible.
Please notes the list below is not an exhaustive list and your role will be flexible and will vary accordingly as dictated by the needs of the business and the requirements of the individual customers.
Duties will include:
- Providing General Maintenance within the hotel and its ground
- To notify the General Manager should a maintenance problem require further attention
- Ensure that a safe and secure environment for customers, staff and visitors is maintained;
- To pro-actively manage daily work-load ensuring effective use of vailable resources including painting, decorating
- Carrying out of maintenance tasks, including preventative maintenance routines as per the departmental requirements in tiling, plumbing, carpentry.
- To ensure all maintenance procedures are kept up to date.
- To ensure repairs are carried out on a timely manner.
- To paint all areas of the hotel to the highest possible standard
- To interact with all departments of the hotel.
- Ensure all work is carried out to the highest professional and Safety standards possible
- Ensure that all maintenance activities and procedures adhere to applicable Health and Safety legislation, policies and best practice guidelines.
- Abide by all the hotels HACCP procedures and complete all HACCP documentation as required.
- To do daily technical inspection and checks on the proper functioning of installations
- Schedule and oversee regular inspections and contract servicing to ensure the working conditions of all equipment
- Perform other duties as requested by Management
- Complying with Health and Safety, Manual handling practices at all times
The ideal candidate will have:
· A creative and solutions-focused approach when problem-solving.
· Knowledge of maintenance trade would be essential.
· Skill in the use of related tools (including hand & electrical tools)
· Previous hospitality experience is desirable
· Be self-motivated and have the ability to prioritise work
· Be standards driven and detail-orientated
· Must have the ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment
· Have flexibility regarding working hours
· Have a good command of the English Language
Full driving licence desirable
