About Evolutio
Evolutio is building a modern cloud platform for ophthalmology clinics across the UK. Our software is used by consultants, optometrists and healthcare professionals to manage patient care, referrals, imaging, communications and clinical workflows.
We're replacing legacy healthcare systems with modern cloud software built using TypeScript, Node.js, Angular and AWS.
This is an opportunity to join a small, highly experienced engineering team where you'll have significant influence over architecture and technical direction.
The Role
We're looking for an experienced backend developer who enjoys solving difficult engineering problems rather than simply delivering tickets.
You'll work closely with the founders and other developers to design and build scalable APIs, security features and cloud services that support thousands of clinical users.
You'll have genuine input into architecture and technology decisions.
We value a healthy work-life balance and offer a hybrid working model with 1 to 2 days in the Sligo office per week for team collaboration.
What you'll work on
- Designing and developing REST APIs using Node.js and NestJS
- Building secure authentication and authorisation systems
- AWS cloud architecture
- Performance optimisation
- Database design and optimisation
- Integrating with external healthcare systems and APIs
- Code reviews and mentoring
- Designing new platform features from scratch

- 5+ years commercial backend development
