Gormleys, one of Ireland’s leading art galleries, is seeking a proactive and personable Tour Guide & Exhibition Assistant to join the team at Ireland’s largest art and sculpture event, at Mount Juliet Estate, Kilkenny.
The Art + Soul International Art and Sculpture Exhibition takes place at Mount Juliet Estate from 4th August - 8th September. It features over 300 artworks by leading Irish and international artists, including more than 100 outdoor sculptures.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong communication skills, an interest in art, and a passion for creating memorable visitor experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily guided tours, providing guests with insight and background on the artists and artworks on display (full script and training provided)
- Clean and maintain sculptures and artworks throughout the exhibition
- Assist visitors and customers with exhibition queries in a professional and friendly manner
- Support the set-up and take-down of the exhibition, including painting plinths and lifting/ moving artworks up to 10kg
- Help ensure the exhibition space is presented to the highest standard at all times
Skills & Experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confident speaking to groups and engaging with the public
- A proactive, hands-on attitude who enjoys working in a team
- An interest in art, culture, or exhibitions
- Previous tour guide or public speaking experience is preferred but not essential

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, reliable, and personable, with the ability to create a welcoming and informative experience for visitors from Ireland and abroad. This role would suit anyone with confidence in public-facing environments and a passion for the arts.
The position is full-time position for 5 weeks, from 4th August - 8th September.
Shifts will typically be from 10am - 6 pm or 11am - 7pm, incluidng weekends. You must be able to commute to Mount Juliet Esate.
Pay: €14.00-€15.00 per hour
