As we continue our journey toward becoming Ireland’s most trusted and sustainable business, we have an exciting opportunity for a successful candidate to join our team as a Fleet Maintenance & Compliance Manager. This role is based in Leinster from our Blanchardstown location but will cover sites in Leinster and across Ireland as required.

The National fleet consists of over 500 trucks and 650 trailers, as well as more than 400 company cars & 800 units of mechanical handling equipment.
This role will be based in Leinster & will involve working with the various Musgrave distribution centres in Dublin, Kilcock, & occasionally various other sites.
The Fleet maintenance & compliance manager will work closely with the other members of the Fleet team to oversee, control & improve the maintenance standards & upkeep of all the fleet & to ensure full compliance with all legislative & safety requirements. The maintenance & compliance manager will work closely with maintenance contractors, tyre contractors, refrigeration contractors, parts suppliers, body repair specialists & the Transport operations teams. Duties will include, but not restricted to:
What you’ll be doing:
- Implement & drive the standardisation of best practice procedures across all sites.
- Review & implement new practices & standards to improve vehicle maintenance standards & reduce costs.
- Work with operations teams, H&S officers & driver safety reps.
- Work with the fleet team in the upkeep of the fleet management & stock control system.
- Budget control & management of all fleet related costs.
- Management, inspection & overseeing of accident damage & insurance procedures.
- Overseeing & management of all fleet related legislative compliance.
- Organise & negotiate day to day body work repairs & cosmetic refurbishments to enhance the appearance of the fleet.
- Oversee the implementation of the tyre maintenance contract to ensure optimum safety standards are adhered to.
- Oversee refrigeration maintenance standards & procedures.
- Oversee the upkeep, repair & replacement of technical ancillary equipment such vehicle tracking systems, vehicle cameras & fuel management systems.
- Oversee the upkeep & repair of the truck wash, fuel pumps & tanks as well as other ancillary equipment on each site.
What we’re looking for:
- A qualification in an engineering, mechanical or a refrigeration discipline would be a distinct advantage.
- Experience in Transport maintenance related cost management.
- Experience in managing a busy workshop or maintenance facility.
- Candidates should hold a Transport management CPC.
- Candidates must be able to assume a high degree of responsibility & be prepared to work on own initiative.
- Key attributes are attention to detail, diligence, diplomacy, a strong work ethic & a thorough knowledge of Transport compliance regulations.
- Candidates should have strong numerical ability & a good level of computer skills, with proficiency in Excel & word essential.
- Candidates should be able to produce maintenance plans, expenditure & analysis reports & assist in the preparation of budgets & day to day cost management.
- Strong negotiation skills.
