About the Café
The Dovecote Café at Adare Heritage Centre is a busy daytime café located within one of Ireland’s leading tourist destinations, welcoming both local customers and visitors from around the world throughout the year.
The café plays an important role in the overall visitor experience at Adare Heritage Centre. We are seeking an experienced, creative, and customer-focused Chef who is passionate about fresh, high-quality food and who can help drive customer satisfaction, repeat visits, and café sales through excellent food presentation, consistency, and service.

About the Role
This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced café environment, preparing fresh breakfast and lunch offerings, grab-and-go items, baked goods, and seasonal specials.
The successful candidate will contribute to the continued growth and success of the café by delivering a high-quality food offering that enhances the visitor experience and maximises sales opportunities during busy tourism periods.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook fresh, high-quality breakfast and lunch offerings daily, ensuring consistency, flavour, and presentation excellence.
- Create an appealing range of sandwiches, salads, soups, and grab-and-go products that enhance the visitor experience and encourage repeat business.
- Bake and present sweet and savoury products to an exceptional standard, showcasing creativity, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.
- Maintain outstanding food quality, presentation, and consistency across all menu items, reinforcing the café’s reputation for excellence.
- Drive café sales and customer satisfaction through innovative merchandising, attractive displays, and a visitor-focused food offering that stands out in a competitive market.
- Contribute creative ideas for seasonal specials, menu enhancements, and new product development that reflect visitor trends and maximise commercial opportunities.
- Uphold the highest standards of HACCP compliance, food safety, hygiene, and quality assurance at all times.
- Manage stock control, rotation, and ordering effectively to optimise availability, minimise waste, and support profitability.
- Deliver high-quality service and food production efficiently during peak trading periods, tourist seasons, and group visits while maintaining excellent standards.
- Collaborate proactively with the wider café and visitor services team to ensure a seamless, welcoming, and memorable visitor experience.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve products, processes, and customer satisfaction, helping to position the café as a leading food and hospitality destination.
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a café, deli, or kitchen environment
- Passion for fresh, high-quality food and hospitality
- HACCP/Food Safety certification
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy customer-focused environment
- Strong organisational and teamwork skills
- Positive, reliable, and flexible attitude
- Excellent attention to detail and presentation
