General Operative – Assembly, Paint Preparation & CNC Operations

We are currently recruiting General Operatives to join our production team.

The Role
As a General Operative, you will work across a variety of production areas including assembly, paint preparation, CNC operations, and general fabrication support. You will be part of a team responsible for producing high-quality components safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Assembly
- Assemble products and components using engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Use hand and power tools safely and accurately.
- Ensure assembled products meet Keltech's quality standards.
- Identify and report defects or issues during the assembly process.
Paint Preparation
- Prepare components for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and inspecting surfaces.
- Move parts safely through the paint preparation process.
- Ensure components are ready for high-quality finishing.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the paint preparation area.
CNC & Production Support
- Assist with the operation of CNC machinery including laser cutting, punch machines, and press brakes.
- Load and unload materials safely.
- Carry out basic machine support duties following training.
- Check finished parts against drawings and quality requirements.
- Work alongside experienced operators to ensure production targets are achieved.
Quality & Safety
- Inspect parts throughout production to maintain high quality standards.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures and use PPE correctly.
- Report equipment faults, damaged materials, or safety concerns promptly.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
Teamwork & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with colleagues to achieve production schedules.
- Support other production departments when required.
- Participate in training and development opportunities.
- Contribute ideas to improve efficiency, quality, and workplace safety.

Experience
Previous manufacturing experience is not essential.
We would like to hear from candidates who have worked in practical or physically demanding roles.
Experience using hand tools, measuring equipment, machinery, or reading basic drawings would be an advantage, but full training will be provided.

- Comfortable working in a busy production environment.
- Able to lift and move materials safely.
- Comfortable with repetitive tasks while maintaining high quality standards.
- Willing to work across different production departments as required.
